⏪ Guidelines

• Works should be related to or inspired by the current event rerun in some way. The story, the setting, the concept, the general aesthetic, whatever you’d like.
• Works are not required to feature the main event characters. Any characters, including OCs and crossovers, are welcome.
• If you post your work on AO3, consider tagging the relevant event for easy filtering; all events will be hosted within the same collection. Some (but not all) events already have canonical tags.
• Works should be your own. Plagiarism and AI-generated works are forbidden. Collaborations are welcome!

⏪ FAQ

❓ How long will each event last?

Posting for each event will be open for the duration of the in-game event rerun (generally 2 weeks).

❓ Can I start working before the event starts, or finish an existing WIP?

Sure! The event schedule isn’t exactly a secret— you’ll be able to tell what the next rerun is by looking at the list of past events. As long as your written work is 2k words or less and you post during the posting period, you’re good.

❓ Can I cross-post to other events?

Yes, as long as the other event allows it! As for Flash Fic events, if there happens to be overlap with Drabbles for the Birthday Boy and your work qualifies for both, you’re welcome to post to both collections.

❓ Can I post multiple works for one event? Can they be related?

Yes, but each work should be able to stand on its own, and any individual work posted cannot exceed 2k words. Series and sequels are more than welcome, but please don’t use them to get around the word count maximum!

❓ What if my fic is 2001 words long when I post it?

There may be some discrepancies between AO3 word count and different word processors. To account for that, the hard cap is 2050 words.
